Designing and renovating Church buildings is an exciting season. I love checking out the building awards and cafe building awards websites for new and innovative ideas. Review many of the commercial building designs that have received awards and raving reviews. You can find some very original ideas that would work great with your shell.
Here’s some examples of Australian Award Winning Designed Churches.

Put together a team of professionals that can help you in birthing this venture. Do lots of research in what works and what doesn’t (especially with the sanctuaries and acoustics). Shop around for quotes and materials to cut down costs – it will be worth it in the long run.
Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them. “According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it.Exodus 25:8-9

The Church building needs to be safe and stable both outside and in the building. Inspections and maintenance should be done yearly, by a team of people who are familiar with the current legislations. You may have some experienced people in your Church that you could call on to do a yearly inspection. Have a coffee and walk around the place together taking notes on what they are reporting.
There are checklists from insurance companies that can help you through the building check process.

Karen Stuckey has been a Virtual Assistant to many Pastors and Churches in Australia since 2011. It was birthed out of her relative and friends, who were Pastoring in Churches, asked her to find out information on where to get this or that, or what’s the best so and so to use. From this she saw a need and began supporting Pastors and Leaders from around the nation.
Prior to this, her and her husband Gavin, ran home groups, healing meetings, soaker services, kids ministry, hospital chaplain (Karen), playgroup (Karen), hospitality services etc. They have 3 children, 1 son-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law and 2 grand children.
